Love Water Garden Wisely: Wicking Bed Garden Workshop for Families
Come along to this free, family friendly, school holiday workshop where you’ll learn how to create your very own Wicking Bed Garden – a clever, water‑efficient way to grow healthy plants all year round.
📅 Tuesday, 14 April 2026
🕙 10am – 12pm AEDT
📍Norah Head Community Hall
Wicking beds are self‑contained, raised garden beds with a built‑in water reservoir at the base. Acting like a giant self‑watering pot, they draw moisture upwards as plants need it. This makes them incredibly waterwise, low‑maintenance, and perfect for anyone who is short on time. They can also be created using recycled and upcycled materials, making them an affordable and sustainable gardening option.
During this workshop, you’ll discover:
- How wicking beds work and why they’re becoming a popular choice for sustainable gardeners.
- The benefits of water‑efficient gardening at home.
- Step‑by‑step guidance on building and planting your own wicking bed.
Using upcycled materials, each participant will make and plant a complete wicking bed to take home.
Please note: Each booking includes materials for one wicking bed garden. If multiple people in your group would like to take home their own wicking bed, please make a separate booking for each person.
